At Babaa ENT & Day Surgery Clinic, we also provide surgical treatment for patients of foreign nationality.
Features of Our Surgical Procedures
POINT ①: We Prioritize Safety and Aim for Complete Recovery
At our clinic, we offer treatment options in the form of day surgeries to address our patients’ conditions. Diseases that have not been cured even after long-term treatment can be resolved with surgery, eliminating the need for continued visits and ultimately leading to an earlier improvement in your quality of life. We strive to provide medical care that allows you to say, “I’m cured.”
POINT ②: We Provide Treatment That Minimizes Time Lost to Illness
For those with busy schedules or for foreign patients who find it difficult to come to Japan frequently, our day surgery under local anesthesia offers an effective solution. Not only do we eliminate the need for hospitalization by performing procedures on a day-surgery basis, but we also make every effort to reduce waiting times with scheduled appointment slots. Our treatment plan minimizes the number of visits, the hassle of taking medications, and the duration of time spent suffering from illness.
Depending on the patient’s condition, we also strive to reduce the number of visits by carrying out preoperative examinations and explanations on the first consultation day. (*Note: This does not apply to patients with chronic conditions or other health issues.)
POINT ③: We Create an Environment That Provides Peace of Mind for First-Time Surgery Patients
The term “day surgery” might evoke feelings of fear or anxiety for many. At our clinic, we ensure that you receive thorough explanations so that you can confidently overcome your apprehensions. During the procedure, we allow patients to keep a call button so that they can communicate with the doctor. In addition, a fully-equipped recovery room is available to ensure that you can rest comfortably after the surgery.
POINT ④: We Provide Transparent, Visual Explanations to Foster Mutual Understanding and Trust
At our clinic, you can view your diagnostic images and videos during examinations, procedures, and surgeries. By seeing your own condition on-screen, you gain a deeper understanding of your symptoms. This understanding helps you to be an active participant in your treatment rather than leaving everything entirely in the hands of your physician, and can help reduce anxiety about your illness. Of course, if you prefer not to watch the procedure or surgery footage, you are welcome to close your eyes.
POINT ⑤: We Deliver Medical Care Worth Recommending to Your Loved Ones
The concept of “day surgery” for ear and nose procedures is still not widely recognized among the general public. We are committed to providing treatment that not only satisfies our patients but also inspires you to confidently recommend our surgical services to your family and friends should they experience similar issues.

Come to the Clinic on Your Scheduled Date
Once you have made an appointment by specifying your preferred date and time, you will first undergo an outpatient consultation. If surgery is deemed necessary after the consultation, the clinic director will provide you with detailed instructions.
(Please note that surgery may not be indicated in every case.)
Preoperative Examinations and Explanations
We conduct preoperative examinations and provide explanations at least one month before the scheduled surgery to confirm that you are fit for the procedure.
We understand that scheduling is important, so depending on your health condition, it may be possible to complete these on the day when the decision for surgery is made.
Depending on the nature of the surgery, blood tests, ECG examinations, etc., will be performed. If you have heart disease, diabetes, or other conditions, your condition may need to be stabilized prior to surgery. In addition, along with your test results, we will provide detailed explanations regarding the surgical procedure, postoperative course, and emergency responses. Our nursing staff will also assist with the explanations. Please feel free to ask any questions or express any concerns you may have.
On the Day of Surgery
Please come to the clinic on the scheduled day of surgery. The arrival time and duration of the procedure will vary depending on the type of surgery, and we will explain these details individually.
After the surgery, you will be able to go home on the same day. Please note that due to the lingering effects of anesthesia, the patient should not drive or ride a bicycle on the day of the surgery. You must make arrangements for a companion to drive you home or use a taxi.
Postoperative Care
Although the exact duration will depend on your condition, as a general guideline:
Nasal surgeries: Please remain in Japan for 10 days

Costs for Our Surgical Procedures
Our surgical procedures adhere to the Japanese health insurance system and are, in principle, those covered by health insurance.
For Patients Enrolled in Japanese Health Insurance
Since the procedures are covered under health insurance, billing will be based on the standard rates as defined by the system. For more details, please refer to the individual surgical information on our homepage or contact our clinic (available in Japanese only).
For Patients Not Enrolled in Japanese Health Insurance (such as Non-Residents)
Health insurance does not apply; therefore, treatment will be provided on a self-pay basis.
Taking into account the extra work involved in translation and related tasks, fees will generally be set at approximately twice the amount established by Japan’s national health insurance for examinations and procedures.
Rest assured, we will explain all costs prior to any examinations or procedures.
